When does my 12 months of Upgrades & Support start?
You get 12 month of support and upgrades with Sibelius Ultimate. Your 12 months of support/upgrades (annual upgrade plan) starts as soon as you install/activate Sibelius Ultimate. Before your annual upgrade plan ends you can choose to renew your support/upgrades for a further 12 months by purchasing a Sibelius Ultimate upgrade plan. If you choose not to renew your 'annual upgrade plan' then you can simply download the latest version of Sibelius Ultimate (before your current annual upgrade plan ends) and you get to keep this version.
What is a perpetual license?
When you purchase a perpetual license of Sibelius Ultimate you get 12 months of support/upgrades (annual upgrade plan) included. Before the annual upgrade plan ends you can either download the latest version of Sibelius Ultimate which you can then keep, or you can choose to renew your annual upgrade plan, which gives you another 12 months of upgrades/support. The other way to purchase Sibelius 8 is via an annual subscription, however you do not own a license and if you do not renew your annual subscription you will no longer be able to use Sibelius Ultimate.
Which version is suitable? Boxed or Download?
You can purchase a perpetual license of Sibelius Ultimate in either a 'boxed' or 'download' version - both are the same in that you download Sibelius Ultimate apart from the 'boxed' version is supplied in a physical box (with a download card) and the 'download' version is supplied via email. There is also a 'student & teacher' version of Sibelius Ultimate which is identical to the full version of Sibelius Ultimate but with a large educational discount - see more information and whether you are eligible on our Sibelius Ultimate Student page.
PhotoScore Ultimate & AudioScore Ultimate - what is this?
You can scan in music into Sibelius Ultimate with PhotoScore Ultimate and then edit it! Sing or play through a microphone and AudioScore Ultimate will notate what you play - you can then edit further in Sibelius Ultimate! Can I install Sibelius Ultimate on more than one computer?
You can install a perpetual license of Sibelius Ultimate on up to 2 computers/macs as long as they are in the same household and not used simultaneously.
I use an earlier version at school/University - is Sibelius Ultimate Academic compatible?
Usually schools/Universities use the latest version (Sibelius Ultimate). If they do have an earlier version of Sibelius this is no problem as in Sibelius Ultimate Academic you can 'open' and 'save as' Sibelius 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7.5 & 8 files.
Is Sibelius Ultimate compatible with earlier versions of Sibelius?
Sibelius can open and save as Sibelius 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7.5, 8 and Ultimate files.
What are the PC and MAC system requirements?
