Really Easy Piano Classical Greats is a fantastic collection of 23 well-known classical pieces for really easy piano, written by a range of composers such as Mahler, Brahms, Mozart and Chopin.

23 ever-popular classics made easy!

There is a range of great classical composers from many different styles in the Really Easy Piano Classical Greats book, including Mozart (classical), Debussy (impressionist), and Vivaldi (baroque). All these classic pieces are arranged for really easy piano (grades 1-3 standard). A lot of them are still heard in modern music and culture, including:

  • ‘Barcarolle’, which was used in Titanic, and provided the melody for an Elvis Presley song
  • ‘Dance of the Mirlitons’ from The Nutcracker, a ballet still very popular to this day
  • ‘Jupiter’ from The Planets Suite, which the 1991 Rugby World cup theme song took its melody from
  • Beethoven’s 5th Symphony’s iconic four-note opening (‘da da da daah!’), if you don’t remember the name you will soon recognise it! It’s widely used in film and TV at tense moments

Handy hints and playing tips

Each piece in Really Easy Piano Classical Greats has some useful hints about dynamics, musical terms, how to practise certain sections, things to watch out for in the music, tempo, articulation, and how to perform the piece musically. The music itself is further marked with dynamics, articulation, fingerings, performance directions, and tempo markings.

Improve your musical knowledge

There is a short introduction to each piece in the Really Easy Piano Classical Greats book, which includes information about the composer and the style, as well as specific background to the piece. This is a great, practical way to improve your theory and general musical knowledge! You will get to know different composers and styles by playing their pieces - there is no better way to learn! There are also printed chord symbols which can help you learn about the chord progressions used in classical music.
