More Tunes for Ten Fingers is the perfect progression from Pauline Hall’s Tunes for Ten Fingers. Through loads more fun tunes, it introduces you to new notes, musical interpretation and playing with both hands at the same time.

New techniques and exciting tunes!

More Tunes for Ten Fingers has over 30 fun pieces such as ‘Dinosaur’s bedtime march’ and ‘Spacemen’ and duets such as ‘Three-hand ragtime’, which you can play with your teacher! It introduces different articulations - learn to play staccato like jumpy ‘Frank frog’, and legato like a ‘Smooth Snake’, and more dynamics, chords, new hands positions, and encourages you to play without looking at the music. It takes you on a ‘Voyage of discovery’ to learn new notes with your left hand, and teaches you the black piano keys. More Tunes for Ten Fingers starts off with ten fingers playing one note at a time, but by the end of the book you’ll be playing using ten fingers, with both hands at the same time! All tunes have lyrics to sing along to, and singing/talking/clapping through words before playing is a fun and intuitive way for you to learn different rhythms. More Tunes for Ten Fingers also prompts you to think about the feel of pieces, for example, for ‘Carribean Carnival’ you are encouraged to make it sound ‘bright and cheerful’, as everyone is on holiday and having fun - a great way to develop your musical interpretation skills. The music is marked with dynamics, articulation, fingerings and performance directions.

Fun theory and musicianship games

At the front of the book there are illustrated revision boxes to check your beginner theory is up to scratch, and there are helpful reminders throughout the book about theory basics you learnt in the previous book. It includes a ‘Puzzle Page’, with games like ‘Musical Houses’ and a 2-page ‘Follow the Musical Road’ fully illustrated quiz with 23 questions written on different road signs! More Tunes for Ten Fingers is beautifully illustrated in full colour by Caroline Crossland, with loads of fun animal characters helping you learn!
