Guitar Lessons in Monmouth
We have three experienced and inspirational guitar teachers who offer one-to-one and group lessons on the acoustic, electric and classical guitar at the DS School of Music in Monmouth. Whether you want to play for fun or would like to take guitar exams, they will tailor your lessons to suit your playing ability, interests, aims, etc. Some of these teachers also offer Bass Guitar, Banjo and/or Ukulele lessons.

Jason
Jason is an experienced guitar teacher and performer who specialises in Classical Guitar. In 2009 he graduated with a BMus (Hons) performance degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where he specialised in classical guitar performance. Whist at the RWCMD he was tutored by John Mills, Graham Devine and Timothy Raymond and won the Stuart Cohen ward for excellence in the field of guitar. Jason then went on to study Music Composition (MMus) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under Gareth Williams and won the Craig Armstrong Prize and Thomas Wilson Composition Prize. Whilst he specialises in classical guitar, Jason also teaches acoustic/electric/bass guitar and ukulele, and offers rock, blues, singer-songwriter, jazz, etc styles.
Stephen
Stephen is an experienced international guitar player and teacher, with a 100% student exam pass rate, who has a BMus (Hons) performance degree from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Whist at RWCMD he was under the guidance of highly esteemed guitarists John Mills, Eleftheria Kotzia and Chris Stell, along with masterclasses led by world class players including Kai Neimenen, Xeifei Yang and David Leisner. Stephen has also studied Spanish music at the Real Conservatorio de Musica de Madrid with Jose Luis Rodrigo. Although Stephen's area of expertise is classical/Spanish guitar, he also teaches acoustic/electric/bass guitar, banjo and ukulele and can cover all styles; classical, Spanish, rock, blues, singer-songwriter, etc.
Andrew
Andrew is an excellent guitar teacher who graduated with a HND in Music Performance and later with a BA (Hons) in Popular Music from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama - along with having grade 8 music theory, Rockschool grade 8 guitar and a 100% student exam pass rate. He has been teaching at the DS School of Music for a number of years and is very popular amongst students for his inspirational, fun and thorough lessons. As well as teaching, Andrew is an active performer with gigs all over the UK. Andrew teaches acoustic/electric/classical guitar and specialises in pop, rock, singer-songwriter, blues and metal styles, although he does also teach classical guitar and can also help students prepare for the GCSE and AS/A Level music exams.
