Folk Instrument Repairs
Here at DS Music we repair a range of folk instruments – just pop into our Monmouth store or give us a ring and we can offer you expert diagnosis, servicing and repairs. The repairs we offer include Ukuleles (Soprano, Concert, Tenor, Baritone), Banjoleles, Mandolins, Banjolins and Banjos.
What services do you offer?
Our engineer offers repairs to most folk instruments– some examples include:
- Re-gluing ukulele bridges
- Fitting strap buttons
- Fitting machine heads
- Fitting banjo bridges
- Fitting nuts and saddles
How long does it take?
Once you have dropped off your keyboard, our engineer will then diagnose and quote usually within one to two working days. Once you have agreed to proceed with the quotation our engineer usually takes one to two working days to carry the work. If specialist parts are needed then the repair can take slightly longer but our engineer will advise accordingly. So from quotation to a finished repair it is usually 2-4 working days, depending on the time of year and demand.
How much do you charge?
We charge a £16 diagnosis fee, which if you then proceed with the engineers quotation the diagnosis fee is waived and thus just the quotation price is payable. If you decide not to proceed with the quotation just the £16 diagnosis fee is payable. Rather than charging a fixed price for repairs and servicing, our engineer will offer you an individual quote based on the work that needs doing to your instrument. More often than not this will work out much cheaper than a flat fee!
