Step by step guide to sight-reading
Improve Your Sight Reading Piano Grade 2 starts off with an introduction by Paul Harris which explains how to get the most of the book and what each section covers. The book has 9 stages, introducing you to all the important parts of grade 2 sight-reading. Every stage starts with some rhythmic and melodic exercises to practise the new skill for that stage, then guides you through 2 small pieces with useful tips on how to prepare them and questions about the pieces. Each stage also has lots of short tunes with performance directions, dynamics, articulation, and fingerings, to do on your own to get used to preparing sight-reading exercises.
Practice chart & useful tips
