The British folk songbook

The songs in this extensive collection of over 100 songs in Folk Songs of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales have been carefully selected and edited by William Cole, and organised by country so you can go on a musical journey around The British Isles. All the pieces are arranged for vocals and easy piano (grades 2-3 standard piano part), with guitar chords so your friends can strum along! All piano parts contain the melody so these arrangements work well as solo piano pieces too. Music includes performance directions, dynamics, and phrase markings.

Background info and translations

This songbook of Folk Songs of England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales has brief notes on each piece’s origin before the music. The Welsh songs are translated, and phonetic versions of the original Welsh Lyrics with pronunciation tips are provided so the songs can be sung in either language. The traditional style of the book is complemented by lovely crosshatched illustrations and decorations around the songs titles by Edward Ardizzone.
