    The Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 is a very versitile 24-bit/96kHz studio-quality USB audio interface with 18 inputs and 20 outputs and can be rack monted (1U). This combined with the 18i20's low noise, minimal distortion and an enormous dynamic range makes it hard to find such a high performing USB interface at this price point. Out of the 18 inputs this interface features 8 x Jack/XLR combi ports with Focusrite Award Winning Microphone Preamps (2 on the front with 10dB pad buttons to handle the highest-level inputs, 6 on the back), SPDIF In and Out, 8 x ADAT (Optical Lightpipe) and 4 channels via SMUX 2 96kHz. The 20 outputs comprise of 10 analogue outputs, 1 SPDIF (as 2 channels) and 1 ADAT (as 8 channels). The 18i20 also has MIDI in/out, Word Clock out for digital synchronisation when required and 2 monitor outputs with an independent level controls so you can give two artists independent, fully-customised monitor mixes.
