As part of your ABRSM grade 8 piano exam, you will be asked to play some piano scales from memory. - Scales (similar motion)in C, D, B, F#, F, Eb, Ab/G#, Db/C# majors & minors (minors both harmonic andmelodic), legato or staccato as directed by the examiner, hands together andseparately, 4 octaves
- Scales a third apart in the keys above (majors & harmonic minors only), legato or staccato as directed by the examiner, hands together, 4 octaves
- Scales a sixth apart in the keys above (majors & harmonic minors only), legato or staccato as directed by the examiner, hands together, 4 octaves
- Legato scale in thirds C and Bb majors, hands separately, 2 octaves

The sections of your exam
