ABRSM grade 3 piano pieces
The ABRSM Piano Exam Pieces Grade 3 book with CD contains 9 selected pieces from the 2013-14 ABRSM piano grade 3 exam syllabus, covering a wide range of styles, including pieces by well-known composers such as Haydn, Chopin and fun contemporary pieces such as ‘Blue sky blues’ and ‘The Policeman’s song’ from Pirates of Penzance. There are 3 pieces from each of the lists A, B and C in the ABRSM Piano Exam Pieces Grade 3 book with CD - you have to choose one from each list for your third ABRSM practical exam. Most students just choose pieces from this book for their ABRSM exam, however there is also a list of alternative pieces to choose from in the front of the book. This 2013-2014 syllabus is valid from 1 January 2013 until the end of the spring 2015 exam period in the UK, and until 31 December 2015 in all other countries.
CD of example performances
The CD which comes with the ABRSM Piano Exam Pieces Grade 3 Book with CD contains recordings of all the pieces from the entire grade 3 syllabus (not just the 9 selected pieces in this book), with a full track-listing, which might help you choose which pieces to do, and give you an idea of how it should sound, to help you practise. There is also a Speed Shifter app available from ABRSM to reduce the speed of the pieces without affecting the pitch, perfect for practising!
